The weather in Nighoj these days, to put it simply, is as hot as hell. While I was walking around getting a nice tan, everyone else was either indoors or lying under a shady tree. It’s so hot that the farmers only tend to their fields in the evening and early morning and that’s just to water the plants. Work pretty much stops after 9am till about 4pm.
This is an onion plantation just outside Nighoj. You can see the teak trees in the background but I was more interested in the tree the’ve perched the tree house on. The farm owner was friendly. He gave me his tractor to drive around his massive farm and for just Rs 300, I spent the night in tree house and was treated to a delicious dinner and breakfast the next morning.
